RFID Beans™
-
Data storage – conductive ink technology may be used to link the data storage of the RFID chip and the bar code. The antenna itself is the bar code.
-
Security – check and balance system to authenticate the integrity of data stored in a RFID chip by reading and comparing to the data stored in the bar code.
-
Flexible data - Bar code data can be a fixed such as the product ID and the RFID chip memory may store shipping instructions for the product.
-
Redundancy - Application critical information stored in the RFID chip can be duplicated to be stored in bar code as a backup data in time of RFID failure.
- Extensibility - Can incorporate other BTI technologies, i.e. Real-Face.
RFID Beans are bar coded RFID antennae. Two technologies, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and bar code can have a synergistic effect when brought together and applied to tracking, securing and authenticating products and other commercial items.
