Did You Know?

BTI's Photo-in-Barcode was selected as the anti-counterfeiting technology of choice for the 6thAsian Winter Games in 2007. Photo-in-Barcode was the organizer's credentialing solution for the 3000-atheletes and 200,000-attendees sport event.

Photo-in-Barcode™

  • It is a proven solution – currently used in China by the Public Security Bureau to track over 500 million migrant workers estimated to be in transit for work in the next few years.

  • High degree of accuracy between original image and bar coded image.

  • Economical and secured solution to validate a digital image and corresponding data using the printed technology of bar codes.

  • 100% of the bar code information is preserved, regardless of the presence or visibility of the image and its content.

  • If counterfeited, when scanned, the image produced will demonstrate that the original photograph has been tampered with.

  • When a bar code is superimposed onto a photo, the software ensures that the bars and the spaces in the overlap area change color, relative to the colors of the original photograph, ensuring both 100% readability of the bar code and maximum preservation of the original image detail.

Photo-in-Barcode utilizes bar codes for validating a digital image and corresponding data. Tampering with the photo would render the bar code un-readable and alerts the authenticating official of potential fraud.

Used in conjunction with the Real-Face which encodes information of a facial portrait, the software generates a bar code that is superimposed onto the photograph. When scanned, this bar code reproduces a likeness of the original photograph, enabling verification.

This technology is widely used in:

  • Official photo based documents

  • Passports

  • Driver’s License

  • Residency ID Cards

  • User verifications and authentication
