GSSC has provided patented security technology to government-authorized security printing firms and major corporations for more than twenty-five years. This technology has been used worldwide by government agencies, major corporations, and various industry associations to protect passports, national ID cards, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, tax receipts, bond certificates, trip permits, currencies, stamps, legal documents, and digital documents. Hidden images can be embedded into the existing artwork or added as a separate security layer. They can be reliably printed using almost any printing technology: digital, etching, flexography, gravure, holography, intaglio, letterpress, lithography, and silkscreen.

Stealth Authentication

Computers, high-end scanners and graphic software are readily available to copy all types of products and their labeling and packaging to such a precise degree that even the manufacturer of the authentic product cannot tell if it is real or fake. However, “stealth” authentication technology prevents these counterfeiting techniques by adding a minimal amount of covert encoded information to an existing digital graphic file.

When printed and scanned with a digital scanner, just enough information is captured to authenticate the encoded image our partner’s proprietary software, but not enough to make a reproduction for counterfeiting purposes. The human eye cannot detect the presence of the encoded image, which can be printed on any package, regardless of its design.

Data / Photo Encoding

Data/Photo encoding software is designed to encode personal data into the printed photograph. In this way, personal information and photograph are strongly linked together, and any tampering with a photograph or with variable information on the data page can be easily detected using our authentication systems. This technology protects against all forms of document fraud – counterfeiting, alteration, photo substitution, and cannibalization.

Variable Data Encoding

Variable Data Encoding software is designed to prevent tampering with both printed and digital documents, and to enable easy detection of unauthorized printing of digital documents. It has successfully protected printed labels, tax receipts, birth certificates, trip permits, legal documents, titles, registrations, checks, money orders, pay stubs, and ID cards for more than 10 years.

This software encodes variable data at the point of document creation. This can be Microsoft Word® application installed on a workstation, web server delivering PDF files over the Internet or Intranet, label-printing software, or any custom document generation system. The encoded image is embedded into a digital document and it is printed with the document. The authentication can be performed on both digital and printed document, thus bridging critical digital-to-paper gap in document management and security systems.

Web Authentication

Web Authentication enables fast and effective authentication of documents and products through a secure, dedicated web site that implements patented web decoder technology. The results of authentication can be immediately displayed in a browser, and stored in an authentication database for further analysis. This novel approach enables document inspectors and brand owners to analyze global and local counterfeiting trends.
